Former CIO for UK government, John Suffolk has suggested public services could be ‘losing billions’ because politicians and parliament strategists are not reacting quickly enough to the potential of cloud computing.
In an online debate hosted by Cisco ( here )and also involving David Wild, current CIO for Westminster City Council, and Andy MacLeod, Cisco’s Head of Public Sector strategy, Suffolk stated that the public sector was making unnecessary redundancies and missing out on the possibility of saving up to £4 billion a year, because of its reluctance to change current IT infrastructure.
